Will Deepika Padukone�s loss be Katrina Kaif�s gain?

Dharma Production�s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani brought Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor together onscreen after their infamous break-up. Their chemistry set the screens ablaze and the movie became a blockbuster. Hence Karan Johar wanted his YJHD lead pair in another film as well. But we hear the Ram-Leela actor has backed off from the project as she is working with her ex-boyfriend in Imtiaz Ali�s next which could release around the same time as KJo�s film. Maybe the dusky beauty decided not to be part of Karan�s film as she shares good rapport with both the filmmakers and didn�t want the box office battle to affect her equation with them, hai na?

Our khufiya khabroo says, �To avoid the clash and a subsequent overexposure of the pair, Deepika has opted out of the film.� But what�s even more interesting is that Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra are apparently eyeing the film. While PC and Ranbir�s pair wasn�t impressive in Anjaani Anjaani, we wouldn�t be surprised if Mr Johar opts for Kat. After all, the Ranbir-Katrina�s prem kahaani is already creating ripples. And the head honcho of Dharma Productions did see their chemistry when the duo attended his party recently.

So if Imtiaz is cashing in on ex-lovers onscreen chemistry, the Koffee with Karan host can do the same with current lovers� off screen chemistry, no?
