Professor Thorsten Beck of Cass Business School and Tilburg University gave the keynote speech at the 4th Islamic Banking and Finance Conference, hosted by Lancaster University Management School. In his speech he explained the role of Islamic banking in the modern world. He highlighted the results of a research study comparing the performance of both Islamic and conventional banks from around 22 countries, with aspects of business orientation, efficiency, asset quality and stability. Islamic banks were revealed to be more capitalized but less cost-efficient, which could be due to differences in the business model. As to lines of future research enquiry, those might include the drivers of the expansion of the industry, its role in financial inclusion, and the type of customers who uses Islamic banking services, as well as the type of products offered, given a choice in the market between competing systems.

Black Panther & Ms Marvel Movies Coming Thanks To Fans? Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies Fans have been clamoring for a Black Panther and Ms Marvel movie for a while now and it sounds like Marvel is listening. Take a look at the comments section of any Marvel story here on ClevverMovies and chances are a good percentage of them will be in reference to wanting a Black Panther or Ms Marvel/Captain Marvel movie. Well, it sounds like the powers that be are taking notice. Marvel co-president Kevin Feige recently spoke to IGN and was asked about the possibility of seeing either of these heroes on the big screen soon. He explained that he is asked about those particular characters more than any – even more than Iron Man 4 or Avengers 3. Though he wouldn’t confirm if either will find a place on their current list of 7 untitled release dates, he did say they are actively developing films for both and though they have a plan and have never deviated from that plan because of fan opinion, he did call fan demand for these 2 characters a “groundswell” and thinks it means something “substantial”. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee we’ll see either on the big screen anytime soon, if ever, but there have been vague references to Black Panther in past Marvel films and Captain Marvel would be a welcome addition for those hoping to see more female heroes join the MCU. When and if we do see a Black Panther or Ms Marvel movie, there’s a good chance they won’t be origin stories though. According to Devin Faraci from Badass Digest, Marvel will no longer be utilizing origin stories in their films starting with Doctor Strange, who will reportedly already be established as The Sorcerer Supreme when he’s finally introduced into the Cinematic Universe. We’ll have to wait and see if we actually get a Black Panther or Ms Marvel movie, but it’s nice to hear Marvel is at least listening and considering what the fans want.
